A Kubernetes Persistent Volume is a piece of storage made available to a Kubernetes cluster.
It represents storage independently from any single Pod.
Why it exists
Pods are ephemeral. If a Pod is deleted and recreated, its local filesystem is not a reliable place for durable data.
Persistent Volumes give workloads a way to use storage that can outlive a Pod.
